A typographical book based on a collection of attributed quotes. I chose the collection of quotes from CS Lewis’s fantasy, adventure series, “The Chronicles of Narnia.”  I made thirteen new quotes from this collection. Typefaces, Garamond and Raleway, are paired together. A common theme in the Chronicles of Narnia is a coming-of-age stories of the main protagonists. I found a similar theme in the newly remixed appropriated quotes. Therefore, I chose the title, Journey, to describe the life’s path and the transformation that occurs on the road to maturity. 

Challenge: Recreate new quotes, taken from a collection of appropriated quotes from famous designers and authors. The end goal is to showcase the new quotes with the original quotes by featuring them in a pairing of a serif and sans serif typefaces. A book will be made, and we will learn principles in using a modular grid, alignments and size and weight differentiations to establish hierarchy, texture, and depth through the typography. We were also tasked to display three to four black and white photographs, as a supportive role.
